For the Green Party, democracy is much more than getting the chance to vote in local and national elections. Campaign actions and green events are an important way to help get the Green message across and build links with our communities and all those who care about People and Planet. Here of some of the events Wandsworth Greens will be supporting over the coming months come and find us there.
Wandsworth Greens will be supporting Lewes Green Party and their local councillors in the build up to the May 2019 local elections. We are therefore joining the Action Day to ensure the re-election of their 3 sitting councillors and to help and elect new candidates. This will be a great opportunity to develop canvassing and campaigning skills and learn from other successful Greens.
The Wandsworth Greens team will be meeting at Clapham Junction Station (Platform 14) at 10:00 to travel to Lewes by train.
Joint social event with Merton Green Party to put questions to the candidate standing for the joint constituency at the London Assembly 2020 election. Followed by drinks and general get together.
This event will be held at Balham Bowls Club, 7-9 Ramsden Road, SW12 Q8X from 19:30.
This December in Poland, countries will negotiate the crucial next steps to keep the Paris climate deal on the rails. It's urgent. The government of Poland wants to suppress the voice of civil society, but we will speak out. And send a clear message to our own government to act on climate now. Join us as we stand in protest alongside Campaign Against Climate Change (CACC).
This event is organised by CACC and further details can be found on the Facebook event. The proposed meeting place is outside the Polish Embassy in Portland Place.
Our general monthly meeting for December will be a 'Seasonal Social' at the Pig and Whistle Pub (481 Merton Road, SW18 5LD). We have hired table space for people to order meals and drinks as they please from 19:30 onwards. The pub is situated in the Southfields ward.
Feel free to bring along other people as this is simply an informal social event to catch-up, eat and drink etc in the build up to the holiday season.
(Walking distance from Southfields tube station, Wimbledon Park tube station, Earlsfield train station and buses going through Garratt Lane and Durnsford Road).
